Mt Bundy Station Experience

2 Hour - Daily 8.30am & Sunset 4.30pm

Experience a taste of the station surrounds - natural bushland, scenic hilltop views, birdlife, wallabies, wallaroos, cattle, buffaloes, billabongs, station and WWII historic sites. No experience necessary. Riders must wear helmet and covered footwear.


Sunset Tour

(includes sunset drinks and nibblies)

2½ Hour - Daily 4.30pm for sunset

Head out across the flood plains late afternoon and see wildlife heading in for water at the Billabongs. Climb an escarpment on horseback before sunset and watch the sun go down over the floodplains while enjoying a chat and some refreshments. Ride back to the station at dusk. Riders must wear helmet and covered footwear.


Children's Led Ride

½ Hour - By Arrangement

Children are led on foot by experienced guides around the station garden grounds and surrounds including accessing a river lookout - see wallabies and birdlife. No experience necessary. Riders must wear helmet and covered footwear.

Taste of the Top End

Adelaide River Experience

Experience a variety of Top End habitats surrounding the scenic upper reaches of the Adelaide River including: Tropical Savannah and stony ridges, floodplains, grasslands and monsoon forests neighbouring creeks and springs. Observe an abundance of wildlife and visit interesting places along the way such as the unique rocky formations of "Lost City" before finishing at a very special and picturesque waterfall for a well-deserved swim and overnight bush campout. Depart Mt Bundy mid-morning, daily trek length approximately 20-30km (6 hour max riding time per day). Return Mt Bundy LATE afternoon following day. Includes all meals and camping equipment. Non Riding Partner may join at camp.
Ride conditions apply as below.
This ride requires a fairly fit rider who is capable in all terrain. Some walking involved.

Ride Conditions: For Treks over 1 hour

  • Tours will only operate if minimum rider numbers are achieved
  • Riders must be over 12yo, under 16yo must be accompanied by an adult
  • Riders must be fit and have no serious health issues, max weight limit 100KG
  • Riders must wear suitable clothing including boots and long pants, long sleeved shirt.
  • Riders must be able to mount/dismount unaided, able to safely and adequately control horse.

You are most welcome on our shorter rides if you are not an experienced rider or not confident to tackle our adventure. These rides still offer the experienced rider a ride to remember.

MT Bundy "Taste of the Top End ½ day" rides are available all dry season on demand but minimum number bookings only (4). Make an enquiry and we can add you to a current waiting list. BYO HORSE OPTION AVAILABLE ON ENQUIRY.

Note: Mt Bundy Station reserves the right to cancel or postpone any tour. If minimum numbers are not achieved 1 MONTH prior to tour date, the tour may be cancelled or postponed. Ride package dates are subject to change.
